Texas Women in Economics was founded in 2019 by two UT students. Our mission is to create a space for women interested in economics to build community around a shared passion. By uniting undergraduate women and allies in the Department of Economics in order to enrich their academic experience, build a network for women pursuing economic studies, and provide opportunities for professional development, TWE is transforming the limitless potential of women in the industry. In a field dominated by males, TWE serves to help women position themselves above the curve. Our mission rests on the core values of professionalism, academics, and community building.
